đź“Ť Cambridge, United Kingdom
My research is on the numerical aspects of artificial ground freezing design, specifically for geotechnical and tunnelling boundary value problems. My background is in Geotechnical Engineering (University of Cambridge, PhD), Infrastructure Resilience (University of Cambridge, MRes), Financial Engineering (WorldQuant University, MSc) and Civil Engineering (Imperial College London & ETH ZĂĽrich, MEng ACGI).
2024
- January: Submitted my desktop study and joined the Cambridge Judge Business School for a Project Management elective.
- February: Finished the Financial Data course of my MSc and spent Valentine's in Dublin, Ireland.
- March: Assessed TBM support pressure requirments for A303 Stonehenge project.
- April: Spending a week of Easter in Stockholm (Sweden), Copenhagen (Denmark) and Oslo (Norway).
- September: Officially starting my PhD program!
- October: Spending a week in Trondheim, Norway, for a fully-funded Soil Modelling course at NTNU.
2023
- July: A year-long exchange at ETH ZĂĽrich came to an end and I bid farewell to the Chair of Underground Construction.
- August: Backpacked across 9 countries in Eastern-Central Europe, 6 of which were new to me.
- September: Went home for the first time in 2 years. Gained a solid 5kg before returning to London - absolutely worth it.
- Early-October: Started my MRes at Cambridge and MSc at WorldQuant. Received my visa in 20 hours!
- Late-October: Officially graduated from Imperial College London with 7 prizes/distinctions.
- November: Passed my first-ever course in Finance with 89% at WorldQuant University.
- December: End of my first term at Cambridge and celebrated Christmas in Copenhagen.
“Travel has a way of stretching the mind. The stretch comes not from travel’s immediate rewards, the inevitable myriad new sights, smells and sounds, but with experiencing firsthand how others do differently what we believed to be the right and only way.”
